Once upon a time, in a dense jungle, lived a small pigeon with its family. All the animals in the jungle lived peacefully.
Nearby resided a large elephant, known for being simple-hearted and kind. The elephant was bhola and dayalu.
One hot day, the pigeon's little chick fell from the tree.
The pigeon panicked because there was a snake below about to attack the chick.
The pigeon immediately called out to his friend the elephant, 'Haathi bhai, madad karo! (Brother Elephant, help!)'
The elephant immediately arrived and used his large foot to scare the snake away.
The pigeon's chick was safe. The kabutar thanked the hati.
The elephant smiled and said, 'There's no thanks among friends!' Dosti mein shukriya nahi hota!
From that day on, the two became great friends. All the animals learned that it's good to help everyone, big or small. They valued dosti.'
